About Us

Erika Flax, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

“The pessimist complains about the wind, the optimist expects it to change, but the realist adjusts the sails” - William Arthur Ward

I have made it my mission to help people use the resources they have to reach their destinations. We may not have all of the resources we desire, but using my person centered, strengths based approach to counseling, we can realize and maximize the tools, resources, and supports we have available to us. People who benefit from their time with me are individuals with eating disorders, anxiety, and mood disorders as well as couples wanting to establish increased connection and intimacy in their relationship.

I have experiencing in working with individuals with eating disorder and use a Health at Every Size philosophy with intuitive eating principles to help overcome struggles with food and body image. I am a Level 1 Gottman Method Certified Provider and use these research based techniques to help couples foster communication, build emotional intimacy, and resolve conflict. You can also expect to be challenged in session with me to learn and utilize new coping skills.

Many clients come to me reporting that while it may not be their first time in counseling, they are needing more tools, skills, and change in their lives. It is my job to provide you with a safe environment where I can push you to make changes so you can find happiness and deeper connection in your own life. I would be honored to walk this path with you.

I am able to provide teletherapy virtually in the states of Florida and Virginia.
